I have a Mac Mini with a large external drive that's still trying to finish the initial upload after a couple months. The app is incredibly reluctant to grab updated summary information from the Backblaze servers. Open to any other idea that are better than rsync.I really like the Backblaze service, but the app is terribly limited in at least two ways that impact it's usability for me:ġ. I would also unmount the drive and shut down the VM between backups to mitigate risk from ransomware etc. At the moment I am thinking rsync with a recycle bin process for any deleted items from the server, this would be on-top of the recycle bin process in backblaze I guess. What I am curious about is how this workflow would go, if I should include some kind of snapshot / version process and what not. ![]() I want to expand this out to a full array backup (perhaps excluding the appdata and personal pictures / docs covered above?), by using a 10tb spare unassigned drive, passed through a VM running Backblaze personal once per month. ![]() I currently have about 7.5TB of media, pictures, music and backups from family pc's.Ĭurrent backup process involves CA backup to a drive, then rclone to a googledrive of 100gb of essential data once a week (versioning of 2 of the previous weeks). I have been thinking about going down this route for a while, but curious if anyone else is doing this and has feedback?
